HELP

Santa's HELPer needs some HELP understanding the game plan.

Often when I click on an Illustration Friday link, I am taken to an image from someone's archives. And sometimes I need HELP understanding how the image relates to the word of the week... and I think THEY need HELP understanding the concept. The idea is for the word to inspire you to create something new. Oh, well... I will now climb down from my soapbox. :o)

I added a copyright symbol on this one to hopefully deter anyone from HELPing themselves to a free Christmas card.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by JONESAPALOOZA this year. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

I too have been frustrated at many I.F. entries lately. At least folk should honour the concept if they want to play the game!

But your entry made me smile :o)

Nice one.

I never thought about that. Mainly because I never believed in Santa...how does he get out of the house? He won´t climb up the chimney, will he?
Santa´s expression is absolutely great =]

And I totally agree about all the illustrations that obviously weren´t made for IF...

Tops!! I love political humor, My love for the IF site is the inspiration gained from seeing so many great pieces, I can't imagine not creating something soley for the joy of the challenge itself. Eh, well people are strange...

Funny! Did you see my entry for last week? Another "chimney scene!"
I, personally, love to build my portfolio by coming up with new pieces each week!
Merry Ho-Ho!

Doug, your work is always so delightful! And always smile-worthy. Thanks for sharing it! And I appreciate your soapbox rant!!! Yea!!!

Did you know Painter has a special tool just for editing out copyright symbols over art? Bwahaha!

Appreciate the soapbox speech. Every once in a while, if I'm just too busy, I might delve into my archive of stuff for an IF. But I agree. The idea is to create a NEW piece, not match it with something in your folio.

I've enjoyed your site and the correspondence. Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Agree with your commentary on the whole issue...it is supposed to be a creative exercise...while I always enjoy looking at artist's work, I can navigate through their blogs to see their other items...I want to see the working of the mind with the theme...and if you can't get something posted or completed for the topic there is always the next Friday...

Jonesie - you've called me out! Oh, the embarrassment, the anguish, the truth! Because of course, you are so right. I justify myself because of time constraints of various other obligations... but I WISH I had more time! I DO have the ideas... I almost always have the ideas, about half of which make it to sketch stage. It's comical and depressing how much the rest of life gets in the way... and how easy it is to make this excuse. And I'm getting tired of seeing my own old work. The good/bad news is... there's only a finite amount.

Last week I used something old to create something new, does that count? Can I get away with that? :D No, huh? Didn't think so. It sucked anyway. :P

And what's so bad about giving out a FREE christmas card? Where's your holiday spirit - you SCROOGE you! ;) Excellent interpretation, as always.
