RED

Q. What is black and white and RED all over?
A. an embarrassed zebra... hyuk hyuk hyuk...

This is one of the first jokes I can ever remember hearing. Of course the answer is "a newspaper." It took a bit for my little mind to realize that the word that sounded like RED was actually READ. Later came the variations on the original joke, one of them being the embarrassed zebra punchline. It seems like there was another one invloving a nun... but I don't remember it.

For a bigger view... just click on the image... and see ALL the embarrassed zebra goodness.

I really like your linework on this one-- looks very newpaper OpEd page... The embarrassment really comes across; nice variety in reds.

thanks... this is my standard crowquill dip pen. Can't beat the hand drawn look... combined with Photoshop color... which is the pencil tool on multiply.

Like megan said, I like the line work you used here. I'm always partial to a 'sketchier' look, ya know. Smartsy concept for "red" too. Yeah...there are a slew of variations on that riddle, aren't there? Not that I can think of a-one right now. : )

It looks like you're working with a dip pen or some kind of fountain pen. I don't remember your departing from the good ol' Micron Pigma pen. You nailed the gag, as always.
