Here are a few of the little icons I made for Alamofire. They have a game on FACEBOOK called PackRat. It was fun to design the little icons. They appear about half this size in the game. I had to keep them as simple as I could so they would read OK at the small sizes. The game is played by finding and collecting icons that are in a set. One way to get the icons is to steal them from your friends... who then aren't your friends anymore, right? Anyhoo, looks like a lot of fun. Worth signing up on FACEBOOK just to play!
So very cute, Dougmo! Gotta love the little guy up there in the upper right. What's his story?
ReplyDeleteThat is the emo/goth bee. We also have the amorous bee, the Queen bee, the Worker bee and the happy bee.

Thanks C.R.
ReplyDeleteI have successfully collected all of your bees in the game! Wasn't easy, but I still have a few friends left! :)
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog through illustration friday. Nice work! Yay for having heard of packrat, i'm a fan of icons :) Anyway, just wanted to say your art is very nice looking, even where you've been unsatisfied with the results (always seems to happen when I draw too that I find something that didn't come out how I imagined it...). I did wonder though how you made all your pencil(?) sketches red? Did you colorize the line art in photoshop? Drawing with a red pencil? Something else? It feels a lot less plain than black and white, so I like the effect it makes!
ReplyDeleteJessica... sometimes I sketch with a light blue COL-ERASE pencil then go over it and "clean it up" with a Carmine Red COL-ERASE pencil.
ReplyDeleteSometime changing up what I am drawing with will be a change that makes me draw a little differently.
