I grew up in Missouri where I spent my childhood driving my hot rod tractor, watching Saturday morning cartoons, and drawing characters from the newspaper comics. In college I earned a BFA degree in Commercial Art and soon after graduation, got my first job in the art department of a large publishing house in Tennessee.

In 1994 I began my freelance illustration career. My illustrations are a combination of hand drawing and Photoshop color. I enjoy working with clients to create warm, friendly characters in illustrations that meet their unique needs. 

I am now retired, but still like to draw and watercolor. I post things on Instagram @thedougjones
