Oh... sometimes I sketch with a mechanical pencil. And sometimes I grab a Col-Erase Light Blue pencil and then use a contrasting color like Carmine Red to "clean up" the sketch. Something I picked up from some animator's blog. For some strange reason, just changing what I draw with sometimes gets me out of a rut.
And yes... when I have something I like, I put a piece of vellum on top and ink it in with my old buddy Hunt 102 pen.
I have never tried drawing on the computer... I just really like using pencils and ink pens and stuff. But Photoshop color is something I can't live without!

Great exageration on the expressions there! So do you do a blue line drawing and then a red line over that? And then the final inking? What's your MO?

Ah. Thanks! so now we're back to my encouraging you to try sketching in painter. What kind of tablet are you using?
