You know it is time to wash your hat when you find a SPROUT growing in it!
Hey, I have made a 5 part tutorial using this image, showing how I use Photoshop for coloring. If anyone is interested in seeing how to add color with Photoshop, please take a look. You can find the tutorial here.
TUTORIALI hope this will be helpful to anyone curious about how to color digitally.

Totally great! Wonderous even. I will read your tutorial too!
Wonderful character. i also really love your line.
your tutorial is very strong...quite close to Dave Cooper's, with some interesting differences.
thank you!`
My dad use to tell me if I swallowed seeds I will have a plant growing out of my head....
Thanks for the tutorial. I am bookmarking it so I can read it later. Yay!
Hehe....love it!
Your Mr. Sprout illustration is a fun idea, and sweet artwork. And thanks for the tutorial!

Wonderful tutorial-- there were lots of things in there that I didn't know about, so: thank you! Fun finished image, too!
And can I say: Dude, why aren't you teaching (in addition to illustrating)? You totally should. You have a lot to share, you're good at it (break it down in easily-managed chunks), and I'll just bet you're good with kids & they'd dig you.
I always love your SocMo pictures, but I am especially grateful for the tutorial. I have put together a step by step screenshot tutorial of how to use Blogger (for my 89 year old grandma!)so I can relate to the time and detail involved in creating and precisely explaining each part of the process. I will be saving this for future reference. (..so glad I can hide those ants now!!)
Thank you for sharing the tutorial. It is always nice to see others process. Thank you, thank you for taking the time to share it.
Blech! Yes time to wash that hat! Great little illustration and a wonderful PS lesson tool Thanks for both!
Eee, he's adorable! I love him. Thanks so much for the tutorial, too.
Love the monkey. Great color choices too!
Never had a sprout in my hat, but, my mom did have a tree growing in her car once. Gotta love SockMo.
Nice tutorial. Can you do one for Paint Shop Pro? (just kidding - I suppose you could modify your tutorial to make the first step "Purchase and install a copy of PhotoShop")
Hey, now that is pretty cool. You spent some time on this! Yes sir, I like it!
Another Socmo winner. What a cool book all the Socmos would make. It would be so easy for you to do a Lulu book with all your Socmos.
Very cool tutorial and fun to watch your process.
